Sobremesa Robusto Largo

It was a cold and rainy day in Houston. Breakfast was over and the house was quiet. I had some great coffee, and all I was missing was an equally wonderful cigar to round out the morning.
I reached for a Sobremesa Robusto Largo – a 5 1/4 x 52 beauty from @SteveSaka and his company, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. The #Sobremesa is the former @DrewEstateCigar executive Steve Saka’s first of what we can only hope will be many masterpieces, which is made at the @JoyaCigars Joya de Nicaragua factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
Right off the bat, the Sobremesa is an absolutely beautiful cigar. An oily, silky smooth, very dark espresso coffee colored wrapper, with tight, well-formed seams, few veins, and an impeccably made triple cap. The double bands are the functional equivalent of gilding the lily – elevating the cigar to a thing of beauty.
The cigar got off to a great start – with flavors of cocoa, pepper, cinnamon, cedar, espresso, cream and sweet allspice weaving their way throughout the smoke. This cigar is spectacularly complex, with the range of flavors and notes intertwining, rising and falling. Balance was perfect, moving from medium to full body by the end. The strength is perfectly complementary, bringing a nearly perfect smoothness to the smoke, with a long finish.
This was without a doubt the perfect complement to my morning. Overall, a fantastic smoke, one of the best cigars I’ve ever enjoyed. I would rate the cigar a 96. An amazing cigar worthy of a prime spot in any humidor.
